Facebook to Replace “Check-In Deals” with More Efficient “Offers”
At the February 29 Marketing Conference, Facebook announced that soon “Check-in deals” would be replaced by “offers”.
Offers are a much more efficient, and I think, small-business friendly couponing product. In order to take advantage of the check-in deals you had to have a Facebook Page setup for each location of your business, because the check-ins were tied directly to the “Place” or location pages on Facebook. If you had one location, that was easy, but if you had multiple locations, this meant that you had to build and maintain Facebook Pages for each of these locations.
Facebook Offers will make it so that a business that has only one Facebook Page can offer a coupon for all their locations! The only catch to this, is that, Offers are only available for select Facebook Pages right now. There is no word on when they will offer it to everybody, but it is coming. Here is a link to the Facebook
Offers Guide, so you can be prepared when this released to you. And remember to keep checking here or my newsletters for an announcement on when this will be released.
